Hi! We are the Symes Family

And we pinch ourselves everyday that we are the ones that get to call 'the Coach House' our home.

We’re a family of four, plus two cats and a flock of chickens, living in the Adelaide Hills in a 150-year-old Coach House that we feel incredibly lucky to call home. We purchased the property a few years ago and haven’t looked back. From the moment we moved in, we couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. It feels like the countryside of Europe, yet we’re only 20 minutes from the city. We adore our little local town, with its organic ice cream shop, charming bookshops, and tree-lined streets so beautiful they draw visitors from all over. Life here is peaceful, creative, and filled with beauty in the everyday.

Our home is a constant work in progress, an ever-evolving space that reflects our love for DIY, slow living, and secondhand treasures. Around 90% of what fills our home has been thrifted, collected, and repurposed. Styling is a huge passion of mine, from tablescapes and floral arranging to sewing home décor from old linens. Sharing that creative energy is one of the reasons we’ve decided to open our home for hire. We’ve poured our hearts into creating a warm, romantic, and beautifully styled environment. While we will continue to add character, cosy nooks, and thoughtful renovations, we’re now welcoming others in to our home.
